Vogt Fest 2011

Last year, John decided that he'd like to get all of the Vogt side of the family together for a reunion and call it... VOGT-FEST!  I'm happy to say that it DID come together at the last minute but we didn't get a whole lot of help from anyone so it was a lot of work.... I'm also sad to admit that not ONE group photo was taken during the weekend!  The first night (Friday - July 29th) we met at our neighborhood clubhouse (that we had rented out) and some of us went swimming while others played on the playground equipement and still while others sat around and chatted.  Then we had a big BBQ and had a little program dedicated to family history and what each of the families had been up to.  The next morning, several of the familiy members all went out shooting and then we met down to float the River.  I hadn't floated the Boise river in a long time!  It was really fun being with the family and floating!  It was really hot so the cold water felt quite refreshing.  Our raft did get "stuck" twice throughout our voyage but we eventually made it down to Morrison park where we got out.  We then met out at the Vogt farm in Eagle for a BBQ and final good-bye's.  I'm really glad we were able to reconnect as a family.. here are some photos from the float portion of the reunion...
