In Our Family This Week... well, we spent most of the week getting ready to host Thanksgiving at our house on Thursday.  Thursday was super fun with Grandma and Grandpa, Jenny, Marty and Madison helping us celebrate :)  We had the house looking festive and all of the tables were set and ready to go by early afternoon. The whole family got involved with the baking and it was really priceless just being together as a family and having fun in the kitchen!

On Friday, I decided to to a little Black Friday shopping since the Goodwill was having everything at 50% off!  I got there at 7:56am (they opened at 8am) and thought it was funny that there was actually a line waiting to get inside! Of course, who am I the one to poke fun since I was one of them!  Anyway, they opened the doors at 8am and everyone calmly and politely entered.  I was the only one who headed directly back to the toys and so I got first pick!  I think I spent close to 3 hours there (it's a very big Goodwill!) and was able to get several gifts for Christmas :)  BUT what I was most excited about was the spring/summer wardrobe I was able to pick up for Aubrie and Lexi (AND some jeans for them that I've been on the prowl for weeks for!)  I was also able to pick up clothes for each of the boys and several items for Homeschool - so I felt super excited about my deals!!  That evening, John and I went on a little "yogurt date" to U Swirl and then I talked him into going to the Meridian Goodwill (what a great man to indulge me!) and so we headed over there before they closed. I was able to get a few more things for the kids (and Homeschool) and John was able to find himself a pair of church slacks.  Saturday we looked at a few ads on Craigslist for a truck.  We have decided it is time to let the van die :(  We took it to 2 separate shops this week for quotes on how much to get things fixed (ie: safe for driving!) and was going to be $1500+. We then thought John could do the work for about $800 but then found out that the engine is on it's way out too and thought it would be more wise to invest that $800 into a new vehicle.  We're hoping to be led to another trustworthy older truck for $1000 that John would drive and then the Suburban become my primary vehicle.

In Our Homeschool  This Week... it was all about Life Skills and getting the house deep cleaned for Thanksgiving.  On Monday we all deep cleaned and decluttered our bedrooms (which ended up being good since I new exactly what I needed for their wardrobes when I was out shopping!).  Tuesday was the kitchen!  Wednesday was the Living Rooms and Office and Bathrooms (and then I shampooed the carpets that night) and on Thursday morning - everything was sparkly and shining!

Spiritually Speaking... I have a testimony of the Holy Ghost and the many functions he performs - the BIG and the small.  Today when Sacrament meeting started, Bishop Forsberg pointed out that he didn't have any assigned speakers for the day but wasn't worried about it and felt peaceful. He then called up a few of our youth to bare their testimonies and thoughts of participating in the Youth Cultural Event (he called up August as one of them). The Spirit whispered to me that I should start collecting my thoughts because I would be called up next to share my thoughts.... I'm grateful that I listened because shortly after, I was indeed called up to share my thoughts and testimony. It's just so awesome that the Holy Ghost can be our constant companion!

Photos I Love From This Week... Grandma and Grandpa Vogt asked for a quick photo of them together for their Christmas Card... Here's what we got just here in our house :)
