And that has been our week in pictures!
* Mom and Dad's "stash" didn't get photographed - however, we were both spoiled this year!
* Dad got a new gun cabinet, Smoky and the Bandit DVD, a Docking station/speakers for his iPhone, a sherpa lined heavy jacket, a scarf, Led Zeplin DVD, several BSU themed office items and a set of solar powered walkway lights.
* Mom got spoiled with the new treadmill! In addition to that I received a new KNIFE SET! Yay! a pair of Hot Booties (slippers that can be heated in the microwave to keep your feet warm), a scarf and a docking station/speakers for my iPhone.
* We also got the keys to our new place and will start moving this next week!
* Our 19th Wedding Anniversary was on December 28th but since John wasn't feeling too well Ben found us a movie to watch and talked us into ordering pizza (and of course, to get him and the kids some too!).
In Our Homeschool This Week... NOTHING! It was Christmas Break! However, Nathan asked to do math... twice. And the girls kept asking to watch Word Girl (which does an incredible job on introducing new vocabulary words!) and Ben wanted to research a few things and so even though we didn't do any "formal" schooling, it was great to see the kids wanting to continue learning all on their own :)
Spiritually Speaking... Something that has been on my mind (moreso than usual lately) is that we really need to make our homes a safe haven. A place where the Spirit dwells and peace and joy can be felt. I think it's been even moreso lately because we'll be making the move into the Veazey's home and the Spirit is definetely felt there (Bro Veazey was the prior Bishop and Sis Veazey's Dad (the original owner of the home) was the Patriarch and performed the sacred blessings there in the home). I want that strong peace to be constant! Everything we bring into our homes, every resource we use, every website we visit, has an impact on our spiritual and temporal well being. We can, we should, and we must make those choices that will best help our family return to the Lord as an eternal family unit and to keep the Spirit ever present in our home!
Also, John has said that he knows that if we put our faith in Heavenly Father and pray earnestly then our prayers will be answered. They have been trying to fill a Salesman position for quite some time and no one was even applying for it. Since we've been praying for good people to work for him, several applicants have come forward and it looks like they'll be getting it filled!
