Kids Say:
There's a little town that we drive through to get to Minot from our house, and we weren't aware that the posted speed limit was 25 (we thought it was 35) and subsequently, John got pulled over and given a ticket :( The fine was only $10 (never heard of a speeding ticket being that low!). Anyway, I was paying the ticket online and had Aubrie go get my debit card. When she came back this conversation took place:
Aubrie: What do you need your debit card for?
Mom: Well, daddy was speeding and the police got him and gave him a ticket and so I'm paying the police.
Aubrie: Oh, how much is it?
Mom: It's only $10
Aubrie: Well, that's good! I'm glad it wasn't $20!
Mom: How come?
Aubrie: Because that would be all of your money!
Mom: Oh....
Aubrie: I'm glad it wasn't $100!
Mom: How come?
Aubrie: Because you don't even have $100! I'm just so glad dad doesn't have to go to jail...
(and she runs off to play with Lexi!)
Another cute story about Lexi. During dinner, I turned to August and asked him how close he was to getting his Eagle (referring to Scouting) and he said that he didn't know. Lexi quickly looked at August and said "Well, we can just get you some fake feathers and some wood for your feet and make you a beak..."
