November 10th - 16th

In Our Family This Week...
* It was a friend week! Ben had Teagan over several times, Nathan had Garrett over, the girls had Jocelyn and Bree and August had his friend, Tyler.
* We joined the YMCA this week and dad has hit it each night after work :)
* It was our Stake Conference this weekend. Saturday mom went to Auxiliary Training and then dad, August and Seth joined her for the Adult session on Saturday night. Sunday we all met at the Minot Municipal Auditorium and were spiritually uplifted!
* Ben had a game night on Friday with several boys from church
* Mom started decorating for Christmas! There's still more to do, but the (2) trees and garland are up! Also, Christmas music has been playing daily :)

In Our Homeschool This Week...
* I can't believe I didn't take one picture this week during our school! oh well... It was a typical week with math, reading, english, curiosity binder (Ben), Enrichments, crafts, writing, spelling and the older boys worked really hard on their BYUI classes :)

Kids Say...

Spiritually Speaking...
Each Christmas Eve, we have a tradition of giving gifts to Christ. We have a elegantly wrapped gift in white with a slit on top where we can insert our slips of paper of the gift we want to give Christ for the upcoming year. One year we decided to do a Family gift of being more consistent with our Family Home Evenings. That year, I think we only missed 2 times! This year, I wanted to do something a little bit different - 2 weeks ago I chatted with each of the kids and challenged them to come up with a gift that they could do NOW until Christmas Eve (and then we'd put what we did inside the box and give it to the Savior). My gift is to read the entire Book of Mormon again before Christmas Eve and dads is to have personal scripture study each day.  We recently chatted how our days are going much better, more peace is felt and we are definitely being able to feel the power that the scriptures bring into our lives!
