* Family History... I've been trying to be more diligent in my efforts - particularly within our own family. In the past, I've spent many hours Indexing names from past records (Census records, Obituaries, Birth Certificates, Probates, Draft Cards, etc...) I received an email this week from Family Search with some information that I thought was really neat! It stated that I had Indexed 1031 names from the 1940 US Federal Census. Of those 1031 names, 103 of them had been added to a Family Tree (how neat!! 103 family names were found and included to where they belonged!) And then of those 103 names, 59 of them have been reserved for Temple Ordinances! I thought it was pretty neat how Family Search reached out to the Indexers to let them know how their efforts have impacted real families!
* The new Prophet and President of the church as announced - Russell M Neslon. There is always order within the church and the calling of a new Prophet is no different. While Heavenly Father can call whomever he wishes, it is typically the Senior Apostle/President of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles that takes on the calling as Prophet. That was the case for Russell M. Nelson. For Enrichment, the kids and I watched the special report on BYUTV where he (Nelson) was announced along with Dallin H. Oaks as First Counselor and Henry B. Eyring as 2nd Counselor. I really loved listening to each of these men bear their testimony of Jesus Christ. Some of my most favorite talks and quotes are from President Nelson! I'm excited to continue to learn from him!
