In our Family This Week... John was on Army orders for most of the week and that included a quick trip up to Spokane for Tuesday and Wednesday.  While he was gone, I ended up switching the Office and hodgepodge "Music" room.  Neither of us have ever liked the way the "music room" looked and I was complaining about it to my friend, Stephanie who casually mentioned that maybe I should make my office in the music room and then make a dedicated Homeschool Room in the office.  I laughed her off at first, but I couldn't shake the idea and so on Tuesday afternoon, I tacked the job!  It was quite the ordeal and took WAY longer than I had anticipated!  However, I LOVE the end result!!!  I didn't tell John about it and so when he got home on Wednesday it was quite the surprise :)  We both JUST LOVE IT!!  I've got an idea of how I want the new school room to be set up and so I'll get working on that with a little bit of tax money we get back in March.  Here's what the new office looks like:
We also moved up in ranks regarding technology and our cell phones.  We were eligible for an upgrade and so we both upgraded to smartphones. I was quite hesitant at first and have been holding John off on this plunge for over 2 years! I ended up with an iPhone 4 and John went with the Verizon HTC Rezound. The thing I love best about it is that I've been able to get some fun apps for the kids to use for school. The only downside is that the screen is pretty small for that sort of thing - oh well. I've also used it exclusively for photos this week and it's been very convenient to have on hand at all times - however, I'm not too pleased with the photo quality (as you can see from the pics that are in this post) but I have been reading some tips and tricks on making your iPhone photos better so hopefully I can implement them :)
On Friday, John and I took Aubrie and Lexi to a BSU Gymnastics meet against BYU.  The girls really enjoyed it, yet were disappointed to find out that they were just going to watch and not actually be doing any gymnastics... they were adorable and it was fun have just a little date with them :)
I found out Friday evening that I'd be teaching the lesson in Young Womens and so Saturday was spent preparing.  John and  August spent time out in the garage...
Doesn't August look thrilled!?
Today is the Super Bowl (starts in an hour) and so we'll see who the champions are - either the San Francisco 49ers or the Baltimore Ravens....

In our Homeschool This Week... I'm pleased with everyones efforts in our Spanish learning and the little ones are too cute to listen to! August has been really working in depth with the Game Maker Studios program and has been making detailed charachters for another game he is working on.
The girls worked on some additional culinary skills...
and on Friday, we ended up taking a fun break and went to the YMCA and went swimming for the afternoon (they have a Homeschool Discount on Friday afternoons and so we took advantage of that :)

Spiritually Speaking... I am so thankful for the knowledge that Heavenly Father answers prayers.  I had misplaced (aka LOST) my drivers license and I couldn't find it anywhere! After about a week or so, I was getting pretty anxious about it. I had the impression that I should pray and that Heavenly Father would help me find it. So I went into my office and knelt down by the couch in there and prayed. Before I even got up from the couch, I was just trying to retrace all of my steps and think of any possible places my license could be.  Without even thinking about it - my hand automatically reached out into the couch cushion where it immediately hit something thin and plastic.  I wrapped my fingers around it and pulled out - MY DRIVERS LICENSE!!!  I was soooooooooooo shocked!  Looking in the office couch had never even entered my mind!  In fact, it never even occured to me to reach my hand into the cushion - but the next thing I knew, that's what I was doing!  AND... of all the places I could have knelt to pray, I was just inches away from it.  I was so happy and gave an immediate prayer of thanks to Heavenly Father for answering me instantaneously!   The next morning during Enrichment with the kids, I shared this experience with them. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of what we need EVEN before we ask it. I am so grateful for this faith building experience :)
