In Our Family This Week...
* After almost 6 weeks of everyone being (for the most part) healthy... dad got hit with a stomach bug and was home from work for 2 days! Luckily, we were blessed for it NOT to pass throughout the family!
* Court of Honor for Ben where he received a ton of merit badges!
* Cub Scouts for Nathan
* Daylight Savings - not happy about loosing our hour of sleep!
* Our Relief Society Activity
In Our Homeschool This Week...
* The kids (especially the girls) have been on a Math Story Problem kick lately - both making up their own and figuring out mine!
* Mental Math for Ben, Nathan, Aubrie and Lexi and continuing on with skip counting and utilizing our "Bedtime Math" App
* Focused more on Vocabulary and spelling this week
* I'm a bit surprised that Ben's fascination and obsession with writing has not wavered and so while he is still super excited about writing his novel (he spends several hours a day on his writing) and so we have started a Creative Writing class to help him with his goals.
* Daily Enrichments and also daily read alouds from mom
* Nathan and girls spent a lot of time learning about different animals this week - the panther, osprey and Flying Fish (along with Mosquito's and Rain)
Kids Say...
"The Teenage hormonal body likes someone 24/7!" Said by Ben when he was talking about a girl he liked and mom replied that he didn't need to worry about liking girls right now!
Conversation between Aubrie and Mom (through the bathroom door where Aubrie was...)
Aubrie: Mom, I'm having Bathroom Magic
Mom: What is Bathroom Magic?
Aubrie: You don't know what Bathroom Magic is!?
Mom: No
Aubrie: It means glory in the bathroom!
Mom: What is glory in the bathroom?
Aubrie: Mom! Don't you know!? It meeeeaaans having fun!
Mom: How are you having fun in the bathroom?
Aubrie: You know, like singing and stuff in the bathroom!
Spiritually Speaking...
Dad here, guest appearing in Spiritually Speaking.
This week I was really struck by the love our Savior and our Heavenly Father have for us. I gave a lesson in the Priest's Quorum about the Atonement. As I reviewed the final days of The Savior's mortal life, I was touched by the level of love he has for us. I am grateful for his sacrifice. I am grateful that he was able to overcome the grave and give us the promise and hope of Eternal Life. I absolutely love my family and am grateful that I get to spend the eternities with them. I know that having six kids was not initially, part of my life's plan but I can't imagine life without these kids. I would not change a thing. I am so proud to be a father to these six noble spirits and a husband to my amazing wife.
