August 17th - September 6th

In Our Family the Past THREE Weeks...
* Dad took the girls and Nathan fishing
* August went fishing and took Lexi along with him
* MSU had their opening football game (we lost 20-21) and all of the youth went for their Joint Activity. Nathan tagged along while the girls and I spent some time together as home.
* BSU had their opening football game against WSU (we won!)
* BIG NEWS: Mom flew to Boise and spent 5 days with Stephanie Perry! While there they tackled house projects for Stephanie (and also tackled house projects for their rental house on Dewberry) and also had a birthday dinner at the Vogt farm with family. The kids stepped up and showed their responsible side and carried on nicely at home.
* August received a new calling as Ward Missionary (see Spiritually Speaking for more details).
* Mom and the girls accompanied dad down to Dickinson for his weekly business trip.
* We fed both sets of Missionaries
* August and Seth have gone out multiple times with the Missionaries
* Dad, August, Seth and Ben helped the Mackowiaks move
* Mom finished KonMaring the School Room - Yay!
* Mom went to several baby showers
* Mom and Dad both had Presidency Meetings
* Mom turned 40!! She felt totally spoiled by all of the love and attention she received!

In Our Homeschool...
* We still haven't "officially" started but learning has been happening daily! Nathan has especially been on a learning kick (sometimes for hours at a time!) working on his letters and blending.
* The girls spend several hours a day being constructive, productive and learning new things! They are very creative and ambitious! Their "newest" idea is to put on a school for younger kids where they are planning on teaching the 5 senses, addition, the ABC's and air pollution!
* Ben has still been dedicated to his writing and spends hours a day working!
* We went to go register Seth for his BYUI classes only to find out that he had been disenrolled since he didn't take classes during the summer! So.... we had to frantically reapply and get all of the Ecclesiastical endorsements and the voucher and updated transcript sent out! Phew.... we got everything in and he was re-admitted and is now currently signed up for a Science 201 class and an Intro to Business class.
 * We've played lots of games together

 Kids Say..
"Chocolate is my favorite because when I eat it, I feel like a cute little chocolate chip!" - Lexi

(Conversation between Mom and Aubrie...)
Aubrie: How hot is it?
Mom: It's soooo hot! It's like 90 degrees!
Aubrie: Good thing we're not playing T-Ball anymore because I'd be sweating like a furry bear!

Spiritually Speaking...
(written by August)...
This is my first calling (besides Quorum Presidency callings I've had throughout the YM program) and when Brother Rose called me in to talk I had a feeling I was going to be called as
a Primary teacher and was kind of dreading that, but when he told me I was going to be a Ward Missionary, I felt a little better. So far, my calling has included going out many times with the missionaries. I really like going out with the missionaries and the spirit
I feel when I'm with them and in other peoples homes. I've personally given out The Book of Mormon 3 times over the past few months while going with them and 1 of those was just the other day when I went out with them.

I was set apart as a Ward Missionary today by Brother Harold Rose (1st Counselor in the Bishopric). The points listed below are taken directly from the blessing I was given:

* Blessed me to understand how Missionary work "works"
* Blessed me with a strong spirit and as I go about teaching and sharing, that I will understand how the Spirit works and that I may be guided by the Spirit and to recognize it
* Blessed me to be able to be a Part-time Missionary now and as I move forward to prepare and become a full-time Missionary that I will be able to run quicker as I get on with my Mission and that I may be able to understand the doctrines and principles and help many to come unto Christ.
* Blessed me to be mindful of those around me and that I will be able to open up my mouth and be able to share the gospel to whomever I come into contact with - that I may have a great light about me and to know that through me obedience that the Spirit may be the strongest in my life.
* Blessed me to understand the Atonement better and to come closer to Christ and that I will be able to share that knowledge with others in a way that will be able to touch their hearts
* Blessed me to continue to be a great example in my family and that I'll be able to share my experiences with my family and to uplift them. I will teach them about Missionary work and the blessings it brings.
