August 10th - 16th

In Our Family This Week...
* Dad had a Doctor's appointment with our new Doctor (yay! for finding someone TWO YEARS after moving here to be our family doctor!). Dad is still having lots of pain in his back and so she wants him to get an MRI to determine the problem (since we have already had a CAT scan, done Chiropractic care and Physical Therapy). She suspects it might be a herniated disc :(
* Mom got sick! She started coming down with something Sunday night and by Tuesday morning she was in bed the entire day!
* The girls have been BEGGING to go to the eye doctor! Lexi REALLY wanted glasses! After much persistence, mom made the appointment (for Nathan and the girls) and the day finally arrived this week! Good news - all of the kids had great vision and did NOT need any glasses! Lexi was ok with this outcome. We hit Subway on the way for lunch.
* Dad and the boys all went to the "End of Summer Hawaiian Luau" for Mutual this week.
* Ben and Seth went over to the Clarks for a Bon Fire.
* The RS Activity was held here at the house (more specifically, down at the Fire Pit). About 25 ladies attended and we had a blast! We did Dutch Oven Cooking, had a Chili and corn bread dinner and talked about how the scriptures help guide us in our life.
* We worked as a family out in the shop getting it all cleaned out. We will finalize it another weekend, but made a large dent! Then Nathan and dad took a load to the dump in Josephina.
* After working in the shop, we thought it'd be fun to go swimming as a family at the YMCA!
* It has been brutally H.O.T. here! As in temperatures are not supposed to go this high in North Dakota! We had THREE days in a row where we hit 100! and the rest of the week was in the upper 90's! While the ceiling fans have definitely helped, we have all still just MELTED in the house with no AC! It's no exaggeration when I say that it was over 90 degrees in the house!
In Our Homeschool This Week...
* Still in summer mode but learning is always taking place!
* Girls worked on a big painting art project (and it has since found a home on the wall!)
* Ben is still going strong on his writing
* Seth has been reading his books from the library
* Learning about animals (they love watching Kratts Creatures!)
* Fractions, multiplication, and double digit addition
* Reading
* Daily Scriptures as a family

Spiritually Speaking...
