In Our Family for the MONTH of August...

* August started a new job at the Verizon store in Laurel
* Ben started football - he is playing on the private Christian High School Team
* Nathan started football - he is playing on the Yellowstone Youth team

We have decided to have a rotating schedule for our gospel teaching this year. Monday's will be used to introduce a new scripture for memorization (we will be using the New Testament Scripture Mastery verses for this) and work on a new hymn. Tuesday will be Lessons from The Family: A Proclamation to the World, Wednesdays will be Book of Mormon stories and discussion topics. Thursdays will be New Testament Stories and Friday will be stories from our Faith book or the Friend Magazine.
* Mom celebrated her 41st Birthday!!
Spiritually Speaking...
Alright, so my mom has been practically begging me to write up about my experience on Trek, So I decided to do so:
Trek was an amazing experience filled with fun, laughter, hard-work, and tears. I'm not going to be a part of half the youth saying, "I wasn't excited for Trek at all, but as I got into, I loved it!"
See, I was excited for Trek all along; I had a great lovable family, very emotional experiences, and a wonderful time.
My most memorable moment on Trek had to be the Womans' pull. Every one who was a boy/man had to stand at the top of a very sandy steep hill and watch as the young woman hauled the carts up to us. It really touched me, and I hope I never forget it.
Overall, I wish I'd be able to go on Trek again (sadly, it's unlikely).
I have a whole new respect for the pioneers, and I know for a fact that their sacrifices meant something - Ben
