* Monday was the Solar Eclipse that we were all excited to experience!
* Left on Tuesday to go to Gillette with dad for the week. We had a super relaxing time hanging out at the pool (and had the whole pool to ourselves!), watching the new Anne of Green Gables series on Netflix and making memories as a family!
* One night after work, we all loaded up and headed to see Devils Tower. We got a later start than we were hoping for so we weren't able to stay long - but it was more impressive than any of us were thinking it'd be and we'd like to go back!!
* Dad took Friday off of work and we checked out of the hotel early and headed to Mt. Rushmore! I've always wanted to see it and it was pretty majestic and grand!! We all loved learning the history behind it and going through the exhibits! It'll definitely be memorable due to the fact that a huge rainstorm rolled in and soaked us all to the bone!
* Saturday was mom's birthday!! Seth even sent a handwritten birthday message (via writing on his dry erase board and then taking a picture of it to send to me)
Seth Spotlight...
* He is still doing all of his laundry by hand (going on 20 weeks of that!) but he says that he doesn't mind
* Still raining every day but it is a much lighter rain these days
* Most nights he either eats at the
"local fried food joint" (where he gets enchiladas, rice stuffed tacos
and cheese) or at a members house
* Had Stake Conference
* Had a Zone Meeting in Matagalpa
* Took a cake and gifted a tie to a recent convert for his Birthday. He said the guy wore his tie to Stake Conference and he thought that was cool
Spiritually Speaking...
I thought it'd be neat to have Seth contribute the Spiritually Speaking this week - so I asked him during our emailing if he'd like to share anything in the family blog and he sent over the following story that he wanted to include...
"Okay a nice experience I would like to talk about, it's one experience we had just the other day.
So
more or less way back when I was really sick (a few weeks ago) a member (who
teaches school in the afternoons) sent over one of her students to run
to the pharmacy to buy me the medicine that I needed for the sickness. So
more or less at that time we just learned his name and not much else. But the
other day when we were leaving the house, we saw him on the corner, and
we stopped to talk to him. We were talking with him and ended up being able to teach him and his
12 year old brother (he's 14). So we were talking to him, and he was super receptive and we even set a baptismal date with him. It was a really nice experience, and afterwards my
companion said that ever since that first time that we met him, he felt like he wanted to talk to him about the gospel but we just had never seen him since - and then we did just outside our door! So that was a nice little
spiritual experience that I've had."
