The Girls turn ELEVEN!

What an exciting day to turn 11! This year as a family, we decided to put all Birthday and Christmas money into our Cruise fund (set to sail on December 1st!) and so the girls knew their birthday wouldn't be a big affair. We had told them that since we'd still do cake and ice cream, they could invite a few friends to come sing to them and eat... Well, that got their little minds turning and they asked that since they would be the ones cooking their birthday cake (being the awesome little bakers that they are!), could their friends come over early to help with the baking. I thought this sounded like a good compromise! However, the next thing I know, the girls have planned an entire afternoon of (free) activities they could do in the backyard while they waited for the cakes to bake and cool. We bought a couple of $2.78 pizza's from Walmart and they had a full party (including dinner!) with 5 friends for $15! Now that's what I call being frugally creative. And the best part, is I didn't have to do a thing and all of the girls had an amazing time! They baked, played in the backyard, did face painting on each other, decorated the cakes together and got stuffed on junk! Their actual birthday fell on a Monday and they thought it'd be better to celebrate with their friends on the Friday before it... With the girls guidance and direction, mom designed up these super cute invites that we texted to all of the guests.

Then on their actual birthday - they whipped up some homemade cupcakes in the shape of  an "11" and we had a little family celebration for them.
