In Our Family This Week...
* August had the Missionaries over to help him move furniture into his new apartment
* Went and saw the movie: Miss Peregrines Home For Exceptional Children (we all liked it!)
* Ben had his final football game - the season is now officially over!! He says he's going to miss it and is already making plans for how he can be better next season
* Nathan also had a game (would have also been the last game of the season but they have a make up game next Saturday and then the Play-offs begin - which his team made it to) so it looks like we still have a couple more weeks of football for him
* Girls had Dance on Tuesday
* Our family REALLY likes watching the tv show - The Flash. We have been waiting for season 2 to come out on Netflix and it was finally released this week! So we spent each night watching episodes!!
* The fall colors are all around us and it is so beautiful! I still can't believe that our backyard is the Yellowstone River - and it is BEAUTIFUL right now!
* After church, I wanted to take some pictures of the river with the fall colors (I was hoping for more reds in the trees, but it looks like most of the trees around here turn yellow and orange). I told the kids that if anyone wanted me to take their picture to head to the back yard. To my surprise ALL 4 kids followed me back for some pictures! I love how they turned out!

In Our Homeschool This Week...
* Huge Accomplishment: Ben finished the first draft of his Novel - Night Watch. It has over a 76K word count and he has worked so hard on this! He worked on it all summer and we're all so proud of him for finishing! He has already started in on the revision and is reworking the entire beginning.
* We finished up The Wizard of Oz and then watched the movie. The kids all agreed that the book was much better than the movie and we discussed the similarities and differences between the two.
* The girls wanted to bare their testimonies in church so they practiced them for Enrichments
* With the changing leaves all around us - we dove into and studied all about WHY they change color and WHY they change into different colors (reds, yellows, golds, etc...) We learned a lot!! I think the most fascinating thing (that I learned) was that the colors we see in Fall are the tree's REAL leaf color and it's due to the millions of chlorophyll cells in each leaf that give it the green color we see through the spring and summer! I had no clue about that!
* And then the "usuals" - reading, science podcasts, history chats and LOTS of arts and crafts!
Seth Spotlight...
* He loved listening to conference last weekend with all of the other Missionaries. His favorite talk was by J. Devin Cornish as he felt he could really relate it to his Missionary work
* He and his roommates (and everyone on his floor for that matter!) became "Vultures" and scavenged the leftovers from those that left out to their perspective countries this week! He said he ended up with a winter coat, leg warmers and a matching scarf (all of which would be very useful in Nicaragua, right! haha)
* We got to "email chat" with him this week as we were right by the computer when his weekly letter arrived. It was so much fun for mom and kids (and August even happened to be here!) so we all asked him questions and had a great time "talking"
Spiritually Speaking...
My mom heart was happy when Lexi (and Aubrie) expressed an interest in bearing their testimonies at church. Lexi worked on hers and today had the courage to get up and share with the congregation her testimony of the Scriptures and of Jesus Christ. She did a great job!
Also, Ben texted me while at football practice saying that he felt truly blessed and protected (as a fierce lightening storm erupted during his practice and he was directed to safety).
Also, our Family Chart (that I shared in the last post that will keep track of our daily family dinner, prayers and scriptures, etc) arrived from the printers this week (I love the way it looks in our home!) and while it has only been 1 week - we are 100% on target!! I am already beginning to feel a shift in our home and our dedication to the Lord strengthened!
