March 13th - 19th

In Our Family This Week...
* Dad had the Security duty for the week at Seminary (aka: mom got to sleep in while dad took Ben to Seminary each morning at 6am!)
* The girls had 3 Dance Performances this week - including a day of pictures and a Community workshop that they participated in
* Ben went Rock Climbing with the Young Men this week
* Ben turned 15!! He only wanted $$ to take a trip back to Minot, ND to visit all of his old friends (we will be going there next weekend). Of course he still ended up with some new clothes, 2 knives, and a pair of wireless headphones!
* Housed Liam Thrailkill for the night on his way back to ND
* Ben gave a talk today in Sacrament Meeting on Service
* Did a quick little photo shoot of the girls in the backyard

Seth Spotlight...
* hit his 6 month anniversary (wow!)
* the work is slow and he's asked us to pray for them to find someone to teach
* went to Chinendega for a Multi-Zone Conference
* he was really sick on this last Pday and so we didn't get to hear much from him

Spiritually Speaking... (John Edition)

Over the past two weeks, we've had an overnight guest on two occasions - Liam Thrailkill. Liam is the boyfriend of Brooklyn Van Bibber, who is the daughter of our good friends - Mike and Nicole Van Bibber. It was spring break and Liam headed out to spend the week with Brooklyn in Provo. We're the halfway point between Grand Forks, ND and Provo. He's a really good kid that has his head on straight and has been dating her for a couple of years.  He is also not a member of the Church.
As Liam and I chatted last night, eventually the subject turned to the Church and the gospel. I shared my conversion story with Liam and he remarked how familiar everything was. Liam has been taking the missionary discussions and he and 18 year old me, had very similar backgrounds. We talked pretty late into the night and he was grateful to talk to someone who had gone through many of the same things. He said that he had prayed about joining the church and felt that he had received his answer several times. He shared that he felt that our talk that night was a reaffirmation of those answers. I shared with him how about a year and a half ago, I felt impressed that at some point, I would share my history with him.  I'm glad that Heavenly Father can place us in each other's paths.
